This is an oldie but a goodie. I was decluttering my desktop the other day when I was re-reminded of this fantastic list of 10 rules for students and teachers, which was created by Sister Corita Kent and inspired and popularized by John Cage. I think this list is amazing, and many of the rules certainly encompass my beliefs in living and making, specifically Rule 8: ‘Don’t try to create and analyse at the same time. They’re different processes’. I’m also partial to Rule 4 and 7. I’d recommend having a read as you may find it inspiring. This list is something I always look back on when feeling a little lost.
