During the Condo I have an impression of artist Darren Bader’s exhibition in Sadie Coles HQ.
I think his work has a sense of humour and the casual display shows minor conflicts among normal things thus making them seem abnormal.
I call them “dramatic”, compares to those “poetic” objects.
Is there any artist can handle both dramatic and poetic elements? I recalled Roger Ballens, his photographs are awesome but his installations are also very interesting objects, they have an atmosphere of grief and deathlike sadness, somehow kinda freaky.
I’m so touched by these emotional expressions. And I think I should put more uncontrolled feelings in my work rather than merely displaying some well-organized models. The narrative things will naturally contained in the end.
